Membership benefits include:

  • More than 1,200 Members Statewide, Providing Networking Opportunities
  • 19 Regional Chapters - with a 1,200 members statewide, CAAA's chapters are designed and organized to serve members locally. CAAA currently has twenty regional chapters. The chapters provide frequent opportunities for continuing education; the exchange of information and resources among members; and timely, efficient and direct communication among its members.
  • Semi-Annual Conventions - include membership meetings, social activities, sporting events and accredited educational programs with knowledgeable speakers on topics of major interest. Discussions on current changes in the law and tomorrow's trends are also reviewed. In addition, the conventions offer unique opportunities for individual members to discussion new approaches, share information and resources, or simply socialize in a relaxing atmosphere
  • Accredited Educational Seminars on Up-to-Date Issues Related to the Practice of Workers’ Compensation and Industrial Medicine
  • Professional Legislative Advocates at the State Capitol - review and analyze the effect on workers' compensation law of the more than 8,000 separate pieces of legislation introduced every session. Support or opposition is then actively and professionally pursued. CAAA also sponsors positive legislation designed to increase injured workers' benefits and strengthen their rights and protection. CAAA's Legislative Staff is also working to expand legislative awareness of the growing categories of injuries and disabilities encountered in the workplace.
  • Amicus Curiae Committee - offers CAAA members knowledgeable, experienced appellate assistance. Participating in the appeal of potential precedent setting cases through the filing of Amicus briefs, Committee members will also assist in oral arguments if requested and are always ready to discuss a potential appeal or advise on the finer points of appellate practice.
  • Quarterly Magazine, CAAAments - the Association's official publication keeps members up-to-date on legal, medical and legislative developments; provides opportunities to exchange information and resources; and offers advanced notice of upcoming seminars, conventions, meetings and more.   • Annual Membership Directory - provides members with the names, addresses, and telephone numbers of members, associate members, members of the Board, committee chairs, chapter presidents, past presidents, and more. Listing members alphabetically and regionally, the directory is a resource network instantly linking the practitioner to specific expertise.
  • Timely Legislative Bulletins and an Annual Legislative Summary Reviewing Proposed Laws, Rules and Regulations - provide concise, timely information on proposed legislation and how it affects clients and attorneys.
  • Advice on the Latest Techniques on Workers’ Compensation Cases
  • Strategic Planning on the Future Trends of Workers’ Compensation - devoted to anticipating trends, new developments and future changes in the area of workers' compensation and their effects on the workforce and the attorneys who serve them.
  • LawNet - Information Sharing with Other Members through CAAA’s Statewide list service, LawNet, plus regional, and chapter list services
  • Mentor Program - geared toward members who are new to the organization and the Workers' Compensation system. Mentors are provided to new members to serve as teachers or enhancers to his/her protégé and to provide a sounding board for ideas and direction. The purpose of the mentor program is to support and encourage young attorneys to continue in their role as advocates for injured workers.
